Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. And how many times have we dreamed of being famous, rich, successful, or happy with our relationships? Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the routine of living from day-to-day just barely existing.
But you know what? Life could be so much better, if only we learned to aim higher. The most common problem to setting goals is the word impossible. Most people get hung up thinking I can’t do this. It’s too hard. It’s too impossible. No one can do this. However, if everyone thought that, there would be no inventions, no innovations, and no breakthroughs in human accomplishment.
Take for example Susan Boyle, a middle-aged, unemployed, single 47 year old with thick unkempt hair, bushy eyebrows with a remarkable voice who truly is an inspiration to us all. As she entered onto the stage of Britian’s Got Talent with members of the audience reacting with laughter and making faces because Susan did not have “The Look” and showed the people around the world a lesson to never judge a book by its cover. Most people somehow think one must look like a barbie doll or a young Brittney Spears in order to be able to sing well. Many people have been brainwashed into thinking that a specific look or appearance is the only one that should ever be considered “beautiful”. A reminder to us all, that we never know when we might find that diamond in the rough. It could happen at anytime, if we are open, and see with our hearts rather than our eyes without pre-judging a book by it’s cover.
If you limit yourself with self-doubt, and self-limiting assumptions, you will never be able to break past what you perceive impossible. So dream on and don’t get caught up with your perceived limitations. Think big and work hard to attain those dreams. As you step up the ladder of progress, you will just about find out that the impossible has just become more possible. No matter your age or appearance you are blessed to live your dream and to never give up.

Susan Boyle’s voice is SO amazing, heavenly and beautiful. She proves that we should “Never Judge a Book by it’s Cover“. She sang “I Dream a Dream” and she reminded us all that it is NEVER TOO LATE to fulfill a life-long dream. She warmed our hearts & brought tears to our eyes and gave us a real feel-good moment. Susan Boyle you took our breath away and made the world take notice that if you have a DREAM, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Thank you Greta! Didn’t Susan Boyle sing right from the heart.. I cried watching this… You know I often think to myself.. imagine how amazing this world would be, if we let go of our hearts.. and just loved. If we stopped protecting ourselves with our masks and barriers and paused for a moment, just to be more open and give a little. Someone once said that what you feel the world is withholding from you, you are withholding from the world. So therein lies my own lesson… I admit, I do get all scardy cat about letting my barriers down.. but deep down I know it really is the only way forward for myself and for everyone. Imagine the heaven we could create by just being open and free to be ourselves and allowing others to do the same?
